Latchmere
School offers a wide and varied range of after school clubs
and lunchtime clubs led by either teachers or professional coaches.
These include: Animation, Art, Athletics, Chess, Computer, Construction,
Cookery, Crafts, Cricket, Dance, Drama, French, Football, Gardening/Green
Clubs, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Knitting, Netball, Pottery, Relax Kids,
Tae Kwon Do and Yoga. We have a thriving school orchestra and three
choirs which participate in events both in and out of school.
Latchmere is strongly linked with both the Kingston Primary Schools
Sports Association (KPSSA) and the Kingston School Sports Partnership
(KSSP) who between them run all the borough-wide sporting activities.
We enter a wide range of competitions, both as a school and on an individual
basis. Our young artists, poets and story-writers regularly win awards
at local and national level. Our Conservation Garden has won environmental
awards year after year.
Pupils in Years 4, 5 & 6 have the opportunity to participate in
residential educational visits. Children who participate in these visits
have access to resources and places not normally within reach, and benefit
from the opportunity to develop socially. Detailed information about
the visits open to children is available at the start of each academic
year. Every year, children are taken on day visits to museums and other
places that help bring to life their topics for the term.
